Lillie's Bike Rodeo

Every year all of the elementary schools hold a bike rodeo at the same time the San Antonio Rodeo is happening. Lillie has brought her bike and competed in the obstacle courses since Kinder. This year she won first place! We are so proud of her. Because she won she is invited to compete in the city wide bike rodeo with her age group. That will be on May 26th. We'll keep you all posted on the event.
YEE HAW!

Kitchen: Before and After

My kitchen has been one big long 5 year project.
It has finally ended.
Here are the stages that we have gone through:

Before:
This is our kitchen "as is" when we purchased our home in 2007

The Middle:
This is our kitchen with new countertops, sink, and wall color.

After:
Ta Daaaaaa!
I am finally so very very pleased.
Tim took two days off and we worked together to re-do the cabinets. The kitchen is beautiful and I am so happy every time I look at it. It was a lot of fun to do such a big project with Tim.

The last week or so

All Things Gracie:
Well, we're still loving our "little" kitty. I think that she might just turn out to be a fatty. She is the sweetest little heart and she puts up with everything that the kids put her through. Grant will often hold her like pictures below but mostly around her butt so that she's hanging down practically dragging on the floor. She just hangs there, loving the attention. And Lillie carries her around on her back cradling her like a baby and petting her tummy. She puts up with it all. She sits super still for us to brush her and she lets us trim her nails all the way down to just above the quick with no issues at all. I don't think we could have ordered a more perfect feline friend.

Random Stuff for January:

Grant put together his first real puzzle and felt super proud!
It's moments like these that make parenting 3 wild children totally and completely worth it:
I did a baptism preview for our 7 turning 8 year old primary kids and this is the cake that I made for it. I was pretty proud!
The kids celebrated their 100th day of school with fun projects to show in their school's 100 days parade. Lillie made earrings with 100 beads and Samuel did a hard hat with 100 star stickers.
However, the day before 100 days Samuel had to come home from school early with a fever and severe tooth pain. It turns out that he has an abscessed tooth. He cracked his tooth and had a mini root canal at the end of December. We took him to the dentist and had it x-rayed. They said that the dentist did not do it properly and it will have to be extracted. They have him on anti-biotics now and are pulling it tomorrow. Here he is at I would say 80% of total swelling. The poor guy was on Motrin and Tylenol with codeine and was still in a ton of pain. On a better note he is excited for the tooth fairy to come tomorrow night.
Gracie took good care of him while he was home from school
At the kid's school this year each classroom represents a different college. Lillie's is Oklahoma University and Samuel's is UCONN. They get really into it with shirts and flags from the school and they correspond back and forth throughout the year. Lillie is also convinced that one day she will be an Oklahoma Sooner! She walks around the house chanting "Boomer, Sooner, Okla U!" Hilarious! Anyway, every half day a different grade puts on a pep rally and last Friday was Lillie's grade's turn. She got to be a cheerleader and she did a fabulous job! They had all sorts of cool stuff, real college mascots, dance performers, singers, a great dj, and some inspirational speakers who were previous students at the school but now college kids. They did a great job!

Lillie is in red.

Lillie and some of her BFF's
And lastly, my reason for sitting down to blog tonight:
This is everyone watching Jason's post of Dallin giggling.
They especially loved the part where he drooled all over!
