Valentines Day 2015

Here is our Valentines Day fun: Same stuff as usual...simple but fun! It was Isaac's first. He seemed thoroughly un-impressed :)

Samuel and Grant's 1st Basketball Season

The boys played basketball this winter and had an awesome time! Tim was Grant's coach, and the assistant coach for Samuel's team. It was so fun to watch them at games and cheer them on!

Samuel's Pocahontas Project

Samuel had to research a famous person for a 3rd grade history project. Having come back from Disney World recently and having had a memorable visit with Pocahontas he chose to research her. He worked on his project for a couple of months and created a really great oral presentation for his class. When the teachers dropped the bomb a few days before the presentations that the students would need to dress up as their character there was a slight amount of freaking out from the boys that had chosen to research women! Luckily Samuel's costume wasn't too hard to come up with and was nice and gender neutral. He did a great job!

New Years Eve 2014 - Happy New Year 2014!

I can't believe that it's the end of 2014 already! We have had such a fun year full of great times, great friends, fun adventures, and lots of changes. We had a great time as a family ringing in the New Year!
We started out the night with a crazy game of Twister.

Dad got a lovely fire going to keep us
toasty and full of holiday spirit

Family Catapult Competition!!!
This was totally awesome and something that
I hope will become a yearly tradition. Grandpa made
these catapult sets for the boys for Christmas and we
had a ton of fun seeing who could score the most points!

Isaac's 1st Month

This first month with Isaac has been an absolute dream! Tim took the last three weeks of the year off in anticipation of Isaac's arrival. We were fully expecting this little guy to be born before or at the very least on his due date as I've never gone over. So Tim had scheduled to start his vacay on December 15th. Well when the due date, 12/14/14, came and went I was a tad emotional. In a not super positive way. So Tim called his boss Chris and said that while there was no baby he was going to stay at home and give me all the support - both emotional and physical - that I needed. He was amazing! I just felt like a fat, huge, cow and I could barely heave myself up to get around. He took care of the kids getting to school, making food, cleaning up, and of course it was absolutely fabulous to have a "date" every day that week while the kiddos were at school! We had exactly 4 of those lovely dates until little Isaac decided to grace us with his presence on Friday.  After that, Tim was off from work until the kids went back to school the first Monday in January. He was on top of everything the entire time. I was able to do nothing but rest and recover, get to know Isaac, and spend time with the big kids. He made my recovery the best I've ever had and gave me such a great start to being a mommy of 4. I felt so amazingly blessed to have such a wonderful man as my eternal companion. We also felt so blessed to have such wonderful and helpful family and friends. Amidst all of the holiday busy-ness we had so much help and love! My parents took the kiddos for a few days right before Christmas and kept them entertained with pre-Christmas fun so that we could catch up on sleep. We also had so many friends bring us amazing meals and take our children to their house to play.
This little guy loves to be swaddled!
Isaac has been such an amazingly calm baby. He is so content and so happy! Right from the start he has been an excellent sleeper. It took him about 24 hours to get the hang of nursing but the sleeping thing he had down pat and he just kept getting better and better. For the first week he was up every 2 hours to eat. But starting on week two he was going for 4 to 5 hour stretches. After week 3 he was sleeping through the night! I kid you not! I could never understand how people got their babies to sleep through the night at such an early age but that is exactly what this little dream baby has done.
Isaac has just inserted himself so beautifully into our lives. There has been practically zero adjustment period; from the very beginning we felt like he has just always been here! I had a very strong and deep feeling even before we were pregnant with him that it would be this way. The entire pregnancy I just kept feeling like things were going to be so good once he was born and they absolutely have been! You are such a blessing to all of us Mr. I!

Hangin' out with my brand new bestie

Snoozing in the rocker

Sleeping like a baby. Literally.

Uncle Jason, Aunt Becca, Dallin, and Russell came down
for a visit and to meet I a couple of days after Christmas.

First Bath!
He was so calm.
To this day (3 months later) he is still super calm and loves all of his baths.

L is the best mother's helper and is so into doing anything she can for Isaac.
She is going to be a fantastic mother!

Cleaning out the beep-bo
(That would be a belly button for anyone who has not read Sandra Boyton's Belly Button book)

Ok, so he wasn't the biggest fan of the getting out of the bath part.

Nice and warm, all better.

You are so loved little I!

Hangin' out in my room...
Isaac and I spent most of our days that first month in
mom and dad's bedroom keeping his days very simple and stress free.

All of the kids would hang out in here with us as much as they could. Everyone just loved to be around Isaac. They would bring in books or coloring pages and then climb in to bed with us.
I loved it! It was one of the most joyous times of my life! Cuddled up with my family, no other cares or responsibilities, and not concerned with anything or anyone but us. Absolute bliss. I felt very grateful for this time and beyond blessed.

Beautiful heartbeat at weighed in at 10 and a half pounds!

This was not his favorite activity

We love you so much Cindy!

Meeting some of the youth for the first time.
L to R: Katelyn Simonsen, Tessa Albrethsen, Meredith Roberts, Lillie, Erika Roberts, and Jack Roberts. Some of my Mia Maids and Jack just could wait to meet him so they came over after the first mutual in January.

Grammy came over to hang out one morning right
after the kids had gone back to school and got to give him a bath.

This is where Isaac hangs out every morning while he waits for me to get ready for the day :)

We love you so much little Isaac and we are so glad that you have come to be a part of our family!
