27 Weeks

The third trimester has begun. And I'm feeling it. This baby is everywhere! So...heartburn, aching back, dead tired all the time, can't bend down to pick up toys or clean my bathtubs. Sorry family who are coming for Christmas. I'm trying to convince Tim to clean the bathtubs before you come but I can't guarantee anything.
But it's still fun to feel the baby move of course. This little boy is going to be CRAZY! He is all over the place. Lillie and Samuel didn't move too much but this one is a kicker and a puncher.
Also, I had Lillie take the picture hence the kind of crazy angle. She did a good job though.

My new kitchen!!! With Before/After pics

I have not liked my kitchen since we bought this house. Unfortunately there were other more important things to fix first. I had resigned myself to living with it and then Tim, wonderful Tim, made it beautiful for me for my birthday! I love you babe! My birthday was Friday and Tim had the day off work! We went to IHOP for Breakfast and then to Lowe's and Home Depot. I got new countertops, a new sink, new faucet, new hardware on the cabinets, and new paint. I was floating on air the whole weekend. On Friday I kept wandering into the garage and opening up the box that held the sink. I love home improvement projects and since the kitchen is my favorite place to be, this was a little slice of heaven. Him and our friend Kris took a whole Saturday and they did a fantastic job. Thankyou Tim, Kris, (and Michelle for loaning us your husband on a Saturday)!

After:
Okay, the new faucet was not a planned purchase, but the old one was damaged during removal. Guess how much this faucet cost?... $10. I kid you not! And yes, it's a real faucet. Not plastic or anything. Tim said he stood there a long time in disbelief and trying to make sure that was the real price. It was! Talk about a great deal finder!
Thankyou for my new kitchen Tim, I love it! Now to decorate...

Random stuff

Okay, first and foremost, does anyone want to know how much I paid for gas today? $1.89! I know gas is going down everywhere and it's not big news anymore, but I did a little happy dance at the pump b/c this is the price that it was for us 5 years ago! $1.89. I can't believe it. It only cost $44.89 to fill up my gigando tank. Today is happy.
So I love being a parent. You get to witness all sorts of stuff. And that Samuel is a funny kid. He has taken to eating apples whole, with peel and all. So I give him one before we run errands. He had a lot of time to eat before he finally got to get out. He ate about 3/4 of it...The top 3/4. I kid you not. He ate it from the top down, core, seeds, and all. He still wanted it for awhile and I kept waiting to see if he would eat the bottom really yucky part. But he got tired of it. It was pretty funny. I gave him another one yesterday and he did the same thing. I guess you can say that he's not picky.
Here's proof:

Halloween

So, Halloween. Yeah. It's sort of taken me a long time to post about this one since it didn't quite meet my expectations. Not all bad, but not one for the record books either. Lillie was sick, but still insisted on going trick-or-treating. She was super sad and tired, and by the time we got way to far away from the house to turn back, that's when she decided she wanted to go home. Like the evil parents that we are we told her NO. She had sworn up and down that trick-or-treating is what she wanted to do and we had told her that we wouldn't come back. So she mostly rode in the wagon and we took her bucket up to the door for her. Poor girl. I really do feel bad. She's been looking forward to it for a long time. The good news is, thanks to our embarassing diligence (have you ever trick-or-treated as an adult? You get some weird looks.) she still ended up with a bucket full of candy to enjoy for weeks to come.
Samuel on the other hand had a fantastic time, the only bummer is that he wouldn't wear his costume. He was supposed to be spiderman. Well at least we're having another boy so maybe the $9 costume won't go to waste. Lillie did wear her costume but took off all the super cute accessories: the wings, shoes, and the flower wreath I stayed up late to make.
Hmmm...I feel whiny. I'm sorry. My next two posts will be full of enthusiasm. I promise. I know, because I am about to type them.

So besides the actual night, the rest of the Halloween season was pretty fun. Here are some pics of Lillie putting treats together for her pre-school class. She had a lot of fun doing that. The pumpkin patch where we picked out pumpkins... Of course! Carving pumpkins, and cookies from our Halloween cookie day.

Western Days

This last Saturday we went with my parents to Western Days. It's this ranch that's built like an old western town movie set. They had pony rides, a petting zoo, stagecoach rides, tractor pull rides, and shows. The kids had a great time. I think Lillie liked the pony rides best and Samuel's favorite was the tractor pulling the big covered wagon. It was a great day and finally the weather is cooling off enough to make baing outside rather enjoyable.

Camping

Well, camping has become a favorite activity and common event in the Doolittle household. Last weekend we went camping with four other families and had a fantastic time. We've discovered that THIS is the way to camp. It's so much easier to get things done when your kids have other kids to play with. I think Lillie and Samuel's favorite part was getting to run around without so much adult supervision. A BIG thankyou to Brianna, Makena, and Madison. You guys are great babysitters!

I wanted to get a picture of the cooks but forgot so Kris and Tim posed for this. I know, you never would have known if I hadn't told you right?
There was a great park right across from our campsite that kept the kids attention. Here's Samuel with Asher, Madison, and Abigail.

For some reason the kids did not like to stay on the path. They preferred to test their luck with snakes and such in the tall grass.

Swimming in the river. The scenery was gorgeous and the water was perfect!

It's A...

Okay, so after a long absence from the internet we are finally back up. This is way late since we had our ultrasound on October 2nd. I am sorry.
Okay so...It's A Boy!!! I was totally and completely floored. I thought that it was a girl for sure. We took Lillie to the appointment and she was rather disappointed. She was really hoping for a sister. After she had about 24 hrs to get used to the idea she got pretty excited though. So, here are some terrible quality pictures. The first is of his front with his face on the right hand side. The second is of his manhood. Let me tell you, this kid is not shy. This was the very first image on the screen. I didn't even need the doctor to tell me that it was a boy it was so blaringly obvious! His bottom is on the right hand side with his legs going out towards the left. We are all very excited and can't wait for his arrival. If anyone has any name suggestions PLEASE feel free to comment. I am at an utter loss when it comes to boy names. I'm looking for something not totally normal, but not totally out there, and it has to go with the last name Doolittle. I know, that's a tall order! Anyway, we'll keep everyone posted!

We have a date!

Okay guys, we have a date for the ultrasound. October 2nd, 9:30am, Riverwalk OBGYN. I'll be 20 weeks along and hopefully this baby will be in the mood to show off! I have an ominous feeling we're not going to be able to tell what it is and I'm not sure I'll be able to take 20 more weeks without knowing! We'll keep you all posted with pics and hopefully video.

Cathcing Up

So, with the pregnancy I have been kinda throwuppity these past few months and have gotten behind on blogging. As many of you have commented. Well, after spending the morning on this, I am all caught up. There are 5 posts below which should catch you up on the some of the main events from July until now. Hopefully, in the future I will be better about this. We'll see.

L's 1st day of PK/ L's 1st haircut/ Funny Pics

So Lillie started her first day of PreSchool last week and she loves it! She is thrilled to finally be going to a "big school". She loves her teacher, is a big helper, and has been making some girlfriends. Lillie also got her haircut the day after her birthday. It was a momentous occasion that including a sonic milkshake bribe for after and some candy while the actual hair was being cut. The haircut was originally her idea but when the big day came she said "maybe tomorrow". I said tomorrow we'll be camping, it's now or not for a while. I got my hair cut first which made her feel better and when all was said and done we were all very happy with the final product. See for yourself! The rest of these are just funny random pics of us around the house.

Okay. Lillie went to Annie's b-day party on Saturday and came home with all of her fancy gear. This is how we found her sleeping and thought it was priceless. The shiny stuff on her face is lipgloss.

Mother/Daughter Campout

So every year our Stake puts on a mother/daughter campout and this year I was able to take Lillie. We had a blast. It was great for mom and Lillie to be able to spen some special time together. Our campsite was gorgeous and we had a fantastic time camping with our friends. We went swimming until it was dark. We both thought that was pretty great to swim under the stars! Then we had a singing time with the stake where we sang primary songs. And some fun camping songs. Then we went back and roasted marshamllows and starbursts. If you've never done the starburst thing you've gotta try it. At about 11:30pm Lillie said she was ready for bed. We finally made it into the tent at midnight where Lillie talked my ear off until 1am. I was finally the one who said I needed to go to sleep. It was fun to girl talk with her though. The stake made us breakfast the next morning and after we tore down our campsite we went swimming again. Tanya rented a boat and was kind enough to give anyone a ride. So we had fun on that for a bit. Then Lillie spent the rest of her time collecting clam shells. We had a fabulous time and came home to find that Tim and Samuel had and equally enjoyable boys night. Tim took Samuel to Wendy's then to Target to buy him Toy Story. Which he proceeded to watch 3 TIMES before we got home at lunch time the next day! He also got to go and check out the kittens at Petco which he thought was pretty great.
