Mother's Day 2017

Happy Mother's Day! I spent a lovely day with my family and own mother. There is no job I would rather do and no people that I love more than my own children. I am so grateful for the mothers in my life and my own opportunity to be a mother!

Alright! I received Sam's silhouette this year!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!
I am so grateful for all of the love and sacrifice that you put in to mothering me!

Sam 5th Grade Field Trip - Guadalupe River State Park

It's Sam's turn for the awesome 5th grade filed trip to the river! When I came with Lillie I helped over in the bird sanctuary so I missed out on seeing the other fun things the kids got to do. This time I was able to help down by the river and it was a blast seeing the kids catch minnows and build boats.

Building his tin foil boat to see how many bears he could get in there. I know he got in the 150's!

I loved serving in the RS with this lovely group of women!

Beehives Late Over

We through a Late Over for the Beehives and the girls had a total blast! We played lots of minute to win it games, did s'mores over the fire pit, ate lots of junk in general, and watched some episodes of Disney greatness. What a great night!

Redland Oaks Fiesta Parties 2017 - including the 5th Grade Chili Cookoff!

NEISD schools allow for two shindigs a year that allow outside food. And Fiesta is one of them. Oh San Antonians take this party very seriously!

 5th GRADE CHILI COOK-OFF!!!!
I remember the first year we were at Redland. Lillie was in 4th grade. When I walked into the school for Fiesta parties I smelled something divine and I was so excited - this party would not be filled with grocery store cookies and cupcakes, but something yummy and savory to satisfy my palate. Only to be disappointed by the quickly bestowed knowledge that the delicious smells emanating from the hallways were for the *5th grade* chili cook off. 5th grade only. My taste buds were devastated. However the following year I was able to partake in the wonder of chili cook off. The next year I had to take off but miracle of all miracles I have another 5th grader this year!
Sam and his team of "Chilianiles" apparently make "The BEST Chili Ever!"
He and his band of dudes worked hard picking the perfect recipe and gathering all of the ingredients. And it tasted fantastic! It was so great to once more be a part of the taste testing group :)
Happy Fiesta!
