October

Game night with friends!

Nana came to Austin! - When we left SA we stopped by and picked Nana up to hang out with us for a few days. We all had a blast having her with us and she had a good time too!

Nana helping Lillie with her French Homework

These two won at the Father/Daughter BBQ cookoff!
They did Honey Glazed Salmon and Jalabangoes. Yum!

First Garden Club meeting. Mary (co-teacher) and I and all the kids got the border laid for our new flower shaped planter - this will be a butterfly garden!

Lillie's 1st Choir HS fall choir concert

Sam's 1st Band Concert of the season - 7th Grade

Cub Scouts - Jamie, Buddy, and I are still running Cub Scouts. This was our big family night that helped the boys pass off food making and tent building.

Whataburger Customer Appreciation Night:

Sam loves to read and loves even more when he's reading by the fire!

Community First Stake Service Day: This is one of my favorite service projects I have ever done and wish we had more pics! Community First is a place in Austin that is full of tiny homes, store, workshops, and community centers that offer places for Homeless persons to live, gain skills and edication, and get back on their feet. Every year in October our stake goes and helps clean and repair things, and helps decorate for their big Christmas light show. It was an awesome day and I wish we had more pics. Our family was assigned rock painting. After we painted we put the decorated rocks in front of residents homes. They also had unlimited snow cones which the boys took full advantage of. We also got to work with the Chases and Petersons so that was fun!

Playgroup: Isaac and I go to playgroup every Friday. It's a great group of mom's and kids and we always look forward to it. With the weather getting cooler it has made it that much more enjoyable! Today we went hiking in the nature preserve in the back of RiverPlace. We walked farther on the trail than we had before and discovered a fun little river that the kids had a blast in!

Isaac and Ben Sanchez

Gymnastics: Isaac started Gymnastics at the YMCA and loves it!

Anderson Mill Ward Trunk or Treat:

Grandview Hills Fall Festival: When we moved here last year we had just missed this event and were so excited to go to it this year! Aunt Katie came with us and Isaac was overjoyed to hang out with her and Grant had a good time with his friend Cara.

Pumpkin Carving and Halloween night: We saved pumpkin carving until the night before Halloween so the punkies wouldn't get moldy in the heat. Yuck.

I love this crew of mine!

September

Fort Worth Zoo - We went to visit cousins for the weekend & had a great time at the zoo!

H-E-Buddy's Birthday! - I kind of think this actually means that it was HEB's bday? Doesn't matter. Because Isaac got to meet HEBuddy in person AND got to decorate a free cupcake. Best HEB trip ever!

Towel fights with Dad are epic around here:

Girls Camp 2018: Sonterra Ward
Lillie got to go back to camp with our old ward in San Antonio North Stake. It was back in July or August but I just got the pictures in. She had a blast with old friends and made some new ones!

Garden Club: I volunteered to run the garden club for PTA this year. Our first event was a community one to clear up the space and plant a new tree. We had a great time and look forward to fun activities this year! (I'm mostly excited to do this with Grant!)

Cul-de-sac Bake Off: Our kids got together with Tori, Ashley, Julia, and Sid for a cul de sac bakeoff. They each designed and made their own cake. We all got together and the adults were the judges. They were delicious too!

The Great Smoky Mountains: Tim and I planned and trained for a week long backpacking trip to the Great Smokies in Tennessee and North Carolina. It's been a dream of Tim's for a long time to hike the Appalachian Trail. To do the entire thing will take a looooong time and it's a plan of ours when our kids are out of the house. For now we got to hike part of it and it was gorgeous! Grammy came and stayed with the kids. We flew into Atlanta, drive the 4 hours to the trailhead in North Carolina, then spent the next 4 days weaving back and forth across TN and NC. On the last day we woke up and said: this has been breathtakingly gorgeous but we CANNOT sleep on the ground for even one more night! We hiked out, got a hotel in Gatlinburg and spent a couple of days shopping and sightseeing. It was beyond gorgeous and we had a wonderful time together! (Both on the trip and the many, MANY nights of hill training through our neighborhood.)

Happy Birthday Grandad! - This was the beginning of a trip down to San Antonio and the reason we came. Looking back we also didn't know but this would end up being Grandad's last birthday on earth. We love and miss you everyday Grandad!
