L's 1st day of PK/ L's 1st haircut/ Funny Pics

So Lillie started her first day of PreSchool last week and she loves it! She is thrilled to finally be going to a "big school". She loves her teacher, is a big helper, and has been making some girlfriends. Lillie also got her haircut the day after her birthday. It was a momentous occasion that including a sonic milkshake bribe for after and some candy while the actual hair was being cut. The haircut was originally her idea but when the big day came she said "maybe tomorrow". I said tomorrow we'll be camping, it's now or not for a while. I got my hair cut first which made her feel better and when all was said and done we were all very happy with the final product. See for yourself! The rest of these are just funny random pics of us around the house.

Okay. Lillie went to Annie's b-day party on Saturday and came home with all of her fancy gear. This is how we found her sleeping and thought it was priceless. The shiny stuff on her face is lipgloss.

Mother/Daughter Campout

So every year our Stake puts on a mother/daughter campout and this year I was able to take Lillie. We had a blast. It was great for mom and Lillie to be able to spen some special time together. Our campsite was gorgeous and we had a fantastic time camping with our friends. We went swimming until it was dark. We both thought that was pretty great to swim under the stars! Then we had a singing time with the stake where we sang primary songs. And some fun camping songs. Then we went back and roasted marshamllows and starbursts. If you've never done the starburst thing you've gotta try it. At about 11:30pm Lillie said she was ready for bed. We finally made it into the tent at midnight where Lillie talked my ear off until 1am. I was finally the one who said I needed to go to sleep. It was fun to girl talk with her though. The stake made us breakfast the next morning and after we tore down our campsite we went swimming again. Tanya rented a boat and was kind enough to give anyone a ride. So we had fun on that for a bit. Then Lillie spent the rest of her time collecting clam shells. We had a fabulous time and came home to find that Tim and Samuel had and equally enjoyable boys night. Tim took Samuel to Wendy's then to Target to buy him Toy Story. Which he proceeded to watch 3 TIMES before we got home at lunch time the next day! He also got to go and check out the kittens at Petco which he thought was pretty great.

Summer Vacation

We went camping this year and I was a little nervous about it. Camping. In July. With small children. Despite my valid concerns we had a fantastic time! The weather was beautiful, the park was beautiful and the kids did great! We went swimming a lot, general lazing around, bowling, and an Extremely Miniscule amount of hiking. It was the one thing the kids couldn't handle for some reason. I think we hiked something like 0.17 mile. Sad, I know. Hopefully that will improve. Lillie also made friends with a big group having a family reunion across the way from us so her and Samuel had fun playing with all their kiddos. The one sad event...I killed a frog. And we were on a frog habitat! I felt terrible. I even shed a few tears. It was late at night and I was walking to the bathrooms when I saw a frog jump right next to me. Unfortunately it jumped right where my foot was about to land. I tried to miss it but it was all very quick. Needless to say it was the worst sound I've ever heard. It was like a sueak the a toy frog would make. Very quiet, yet ear peircing. It made a couple of hops away and I was holding out hope but we later discovered that it didn't even make it out of our campsite. I'm so sorry frog! Okay, I can't end on a sad note, so I'll just say again, it was a fantastic vacation!

Lillie's Birthday

Lillie turned 4!!!!! She had a star themed water party. I know, kinda out there but here's the reasoning. We call her Lil'Star (coined by Uncle Jason) and we are really trying to get away from copyrighted themed parties. So we had a star party in honor of her nickname. The water part came because it was in July and stinkin' hot. There were about 15 kids plus moms and that was way too many to have in the house. So the mom's stayed in the air conditioning and the kids played outside in various pools and sprinklers. That was the plan anyway. It lasted for about 15 minutes and then most of the kids filtered back inside. It was crazy but super fun and I know that Lillie had a fantastic time. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with her!




This scooter was the coveted present she had been waiting for. She wanted it so she could have one like Darby the Super Sleuth on My Friends Tigger and Pooh.

17 Weeks

So, to anyone who doesn't know yet....we're expecting a baby! The EDD is February 20th, 2009 and we are all very excited. I am especially happy now that the sick yuck is over and I can enjoy my new found energy! Our family is currently very happy as the ENTIRE house was finally declared clean this past Saturday. It was a big group effort considering not much has been done about the growing mess these past few months.
We are planning a home birth in a birthing pool again with our previous midwife Holly Manzanera, whom we love! She was fantastic for Samuel's birth and so far has been fantastic with this pregnancy. Everything looks good right now: baby's heart beat is great and everything seems healthy and in order with me so home birth here we come! We'll let everyone know if anything changes. We like Holly's methods a lot and feel very comfortable with them. She will only deliver at home if it is a low risk pregnancy after 36wks. She is great about knowing when it's time to go to the hospital. So basically she's not going to deliver at home at all costs. Feel free to check out her website at http://www.birthcentersa.com/ . We should be finding out the baby's gender in 3 to 5 weeks. I have 2 ultrasounds scheduled with my OB and hopefully we'll be able to tell with the 1st one. We'll keep you posted!

Samuel and Tim's Birthdays

Samuel turned 2 on his last b-day and he had a fantastic time! He loved all of his presents and loved being the center of attention. When we sang "Happy Birthday" to him he had this look on his face that showed embarassment, and excitement at the same time. You could tell that he loved being the center of attention. When we sang to Tim 2 days later he thought that it was still for him and he was pretty surprised when we said daddy's name instead of his in the song! Thanks to all who came and all the family and friends who sent their love from far away!

Okay, so Tim got more for his birthday than candy but for some reason that's all the ended up in the picture. He also got clothes, and even more exciting...Guitar Hero III!!! He's pretty excited and I think it's fun too. Thankyou Mom and Dad Doo' and Aunt Barbara...see he spent his money on something fun!
