Samuel's awesome diorama that he made for his Wolf Science project in 2nd grade

S and L were participating in running challenges at school and G wanted to as well. So he worked super hard and made sure to exercise at least 1 hour/day for 8 weeks. And he did it! He earned his HEBuddy Get Fit award. He wore this sweat band everywhere for about 2 weeks - even to sleep. 

 We discovered this totally awesome tiny little park in the middle of the city and went there to discover it today. It was especially awesome because our best neighbor friend William is from Korea and the entire park was built as a Korean monument! It was so beautiful there. The kids loved feeding the ducks and running around the paths.

Biking in the Rain

There's nothing better than a TX thunderstorm. But a close second, is a TX rain minus the thunder and lightning. Because then you get to ride bikes in it with your neighborhood friends!

Seussical the Musical

Samuel and his 2nd grade class performed Suessical the Musical. They practiced for several months and it was so fun to watch. Great job buddy!

Combined YM/YW lip sync and dance off - February or March-ish 2014

So the YM of the Sonterra ward planned a fun combined activity for us. We had a blast with the lip sync and dance off! The kids worked super hard and they did a great job!

Valentine's Day - 2014

Gotta love Hearts Day! Every year I make a candy-gram for Tim. This kids love his so much that this year we decided to make one for them as well. Here they are:

The one Mylar balloon they each received was completely the hit of their day.

Winter Olympics - Sochi, Russia - 20

The Olympics bug has hit! Our entire family is completely obsessed with it. I thought the kids would get bored after awhile, but no - from 2/7 until 2/23 they watched every single sporting event, and ceremony they could get their eyes on. They were into the medal counts, had favorite sports and athletes, new athletes back stories, and drew "Go USA" art to decorate the house with. It was a great family time and I can't wait for Rio in 2016!

The Great Big Texas Ice Down! 2014

For being in South Texas, we had one of the coldest winters I can remember. This is the first of three pretty big freezes that the entire state got to enjoy! As you went north, it just got worse - lucky for us, while San Antonio was pretty much shut down, we didn't experience power outages and closed stores for days in a row like North Texas did. We just got to miss school and play in the ice and weird dippin'dots like snow.

At least we have appropriately decorated to match the weather!

This "snow" lasted for about 3 days - amazing, I know! - the kids played out here happily for hours

 Here's the crazy, crazy ice storm - this actually happened first, about a week before the snow incident

Slip 'n sliding across driveways and down sidewalks with Autumn and KC's dog Chelsea - All three of the kids were so rough out there, running and sliding to see how far they could go - I kept holding my breath just waiting to see when we would need to go to the ER for a concussion - but amazingly my South-Texas-born-and-bred-that-rarely-see-snow-and-even-more-rarely-experience-ice-on-the-ground-kids were all able to keep their balance.
