FHE - Proclamation to the Family

This year as a family we have been studying The Family: A Proclamation to the World topic by topic. It's going to take 30 lessons in all and it has been a wonderful time for our family! Here is one of the lessons where we learned about the steps that we need to take to learn the things that we were sent to earth to learn and be able to gain the blessings of eternal families that Heavenly Father has in store for us. William from next door joined us as he sometimes does and we had a great time!

     The kids had to run an obstacle course hopping over the many steps needed to gain an eternal family. At the end they had to race to put on Tim's or my my clothes and swaddle a baby. Lillie had to just go over and over ;)

 The kids loved this obstacle course and wanted to do it over and over!

Here is a lesson where we learned about the importance of gaining a body. We made our own bodies out of sugar cookies that we then got to eat. Yummy!

Spring Break 2015

Ah Spring Break. The first big "break" where I have to juggle entertaining 3 older kiddos yet at the same time making sure an infant gets his naps. I DID NOT want us to sit around bored for 9 days so here goes....!

Priority #1 - Take a bath. Let's wash off all of that school!

Checking our San Antonio's newest attraction - The Aquarium

strangely and unexplainedly the beginning of the aquarium has a dinosaur exhibit? Also, despite being set up like a museum the dinos had no explanatory signs. They were still cool to look at though and in the end I guess that's what counts when you're hanging out with kids!

Sooo...this was the lamest/coolest aquarium we have ever been to. Lame because... well.... the entire thing screamed cheap and ghetto like it had been thrown together by people who hadn't the slightest idea how you are supposed to create and maintain an aquarium. Cool because since these people obviously don't know what they are doing there were lots of opportunities for animal interactions. I highly doubt that this place will be around for long and sadly, it seems that the animals are the ones that are going to suffer for it. That being said, we were already there so why not take advantage of being able to pet stingrays more than we ever will again?!? 

This huge tank was full of stingrays and the kids loved petting them. All three of them hung out here for over an hour. Also, inside the aquarium is a bounce house called I-guana jump. When we went to jump we ended up finding a bunch of friends from our old ward so the kids had lots of bouncing buddies. Still, the lure of stingrays was too strong for Lillie. The tank was just outside the jumping room so Lillie bounced for about an hour and then spent another 1 1/2 hours with her friends the stingrays again :)

Morgan's Wonderland

We have always wanted to come and explore this place! It's a theme park that is built with special needs children in mind. It was totally awesome! The weather was way colder than expected so the park wasn't too busy at all. It was full of awesome sensory activities and cool playground. We played all day and had a total blast!

If you look carefully you can see that marbles are dumping from the top of the screen and wherever the kids' shadows fall on the screen the marbles collect and fill up in the shadows. When they step away then all the marbles fall. It was so awesome! This room was filled with screens like this. One of them had butterflies that would land on your shadow.

The Water Works was by far the BEST place here! The kids loved this and even though it was freezing outside they spent the better part of their day here.

What a totally awesome Spring Break! We managed to fill up practically every day with fun things to do. Now we just have to bear through a couple of more months until we get to summer!

Grant Turns 6 Years Old!

I can't believe that this boy is already 6 years old! He has totally rocked being 5 - graduated from Pre-K to Kinder, loves his teacher Ms. Gallardo, has made great friends in school, and loves to learn! He is doing so well in school and is such a great little and BIG brother. We love having you in our family Mr. Grant!

My first kiddo to share a "school year" birthday with me. L always says that she loves that she never has to go to school on her birthday - but I agree with Grant - I loved being at school on my b-day!

Still with the mini golf! He asks to do this weekly, Chuck E. Cheese - also something he thinks should happen weekly, ride bikes and scooters, go to William's house as well as Matthew and Weston's, read books in bed at night, play daddy's tablet, play outdoor games with the neighborhood kids, help with dinner and baking, do "service" - he is always doing little helpful things and asking if it's service, play with Isaac - he is a fabulous big brother!, play board games - he is totally my kid!

Board Games - 

Chutes and Ladders, Battleship, Sorry, Connect Four Launchers, Ticket to Ride, War, Yahtzee Junior, Hulabaloo, Checkers, and Chess - Truly though he will play any board game anywhere with anybody!
