Despite the torrential down pouring of rain we had a TOTALLY FANTASTIC Spring Break this year! The rain managed to break enough and always at the perfect times.
First we traveled to Dallas to visit with our friends the Hollands for a few day:
Of course when we arrived after our harrowing-there-was-so-much-rain-on-IH35-that-mom-couldn't-see-
and-she-thought-we-were-going-to-die journey the Hollands weren't even home! We had fun running around in the rain sprinkles and stretching our legs though.
The Perot Musuem
Isaac was so enthralled by this light board
Isaac and his best bud Ms. Kethy. He realized pretty quick that she was a
good person to like and that he could get lots of treats from her!
Love these girls!

The entire clan! Love that we've been friends since our oldest were 2 and 3!
And even though we were zero on preparedness for swimsuits we let the kids splash around in the fountains in front of the museum. There was a promise of course that they wouldn't get their clothes wet. They were good on that promise for about 5 minutes before total and complete soak-age occurred.
That's OK, that's what Spring Breaks are made for right!?
The 2nd half of Spring Break we took a trip down to Corpus Christi with Grammy, Grandad, and Aunt Laura. It was seriously so much fun we are thinking of making it a yearly thing!
There were so many gorgeous wildflowers along the way that we had to stop and pick some. The boys picked some gorgeous bouquets for me!
Oh my goodness this is so cute I can't even stand it!
What handsome boys I have
Eating at Shang Hai our favorite Corpus Restaurant. We introduced the kids to it this time and we all loved it so much that we ate there on the first day and the last day!
Haha! This fortune of Lillie's!
Isaac loved the tiny balcony off of our hotel room
Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens
Initially the boys weren't too excited about coming here (though Laura and I were and we did happy squealy sounds when we drove into the parking lot and saw all of the plants) but when they found out there were animals too and snakes at that. well their minds were changed pretty quickly...
Here's Grant and one of the many times that he got to hold this awesome Boa Constrictor.
Sadly right after this the bird totally clawed Samuel and cut his neck. Then he went outside and held the boa around his neck and the snake rubbed hard against the cut. After that Samuel was pretty much done and kept asking if we could go back to the hotel. Unfortunately we had just gotten there. Oh well, it was the only hard part of the trip for him.
The best thing about this place was that it was kinda off the beaten path so it wasn't
busy and we got lots of personal time with the animals and their handlers.
I love this gorgeous picture of my sister by this beautiful bottlebrush tree!
Me and my favorite flowers - orchids
Lillie and Grant trying to catch a butterfly in the butterfly sanctuary
Samuel the butterfly whisperer
Isaac had such a great time hanging with his Grammy and having her show him all the butterflies.
He was so curious about them all!
I love my dad!
Success! She finally got a butterfly!
Afternoon at the Beach
This trip convinced me that the very best way to go to the beach is in the late afternoon (not so hot and no sun screen necessary) and with your hotel right across the street. Easy clean up and you don't have to haul all sorts of crap-ola over the sand. It was such a lovely time!
Trying not to get attacked by the seagulls as they throw them some bread
Thanks Grammy for helping to keep my "baby pool" filled up with water
Bone tired but wanting to show off his TX waffle for Auntie Allison
(who I believe loves TX more that anyone I know)
I love to be with my Grandad!
TX State Aquarium
Our last major stop was a visit to the TX State Aquarium and we all had a great time!
These touch pools are awesome!
I love this family of mine and I am so glad that we got to take this trip!
As previously mentioned on our way out of town we stopped to eat once more at Shang Hai. This picture right here is a true testament to how much fun we had. This kiddo never, ever, falls asleep anywhere but a bed. He fell asleep on the way to the restaurant, and the proceeded to sleep the entire time we were eating. I'd say this was a super successful trip! Until next year!
