Happy 3rd Birthday Isaac!

I cannot believe that this boy is 3 already! He is such a sweetheart and we love having him in our family. He certainly doesn't lack for attention and he absolutely loves growing up in a house with so many big people to hang out with.
He started out his big day getting to open his present from Mom and Dad...

The big power wheels digger!
He's been eyeballing this thing at Costco for awhile now.

Since we're about to leave for UT for two weeks (starting tomorrow)
we wanted him to at least get a whole day to drive it around and enjoy it.

With Auntie Laura and his new Cars chair she gave to him
Grammy and Grandad took Isaac to the Austin aquarium for his birthday and he had a fantastic time

If there is one show that Isaac loves more than any other it's gotta be PJ Masks

He got this dragon (something else he's been eyeballing for awhile) from Grammy and Grandad
We love you Isaac!
Isaac's Favorites at 3:
Shows: PJ Masks
Foods: Cheesticks, goldfish, broccoli, peas, pizza, pepperoni, and CHOCOLATE!!!
Things to do: play with siblings, go to Grammy and Grandads, play cars and trains, dragons, dinosaurs

The Holiday Season Is Upon Us!

Time to ring in the Christmas season with a little holiday decorating and tree trimming! The Doolittle's love Christmas and can't wait to find some new Austin-ite traditions.
It's Sam's turn to top the tree this year!

Playing a friendly game of "catch" as Lillie tries to gather the boys for a pic in front of the
newly decorated tree. Perhaps Isaac will be old enough to handle helping us next year!

Isaac just loves this train he got from Grammy and Grandad last year

At our own personal "Light Fight" house in a neighborhood close to us.
This house was decorated to the hilt with lights and had a music show to match. We came
down the first night for FHE then saw that they had a toy donation box so went out
shopping and came back for a second show. I love that other people get so into decorating!

Snow in Austin!
It only snowed an inch or so but we were so excited to get some of this magical stuff right here in South Texas! Thanks to our new friend Sid next door for coming to tell us when it started to fall. Otherwise, we would have missed the entire thing!

Grant with new friends and fellow cul de sac-ers Tori and Sid
(We are so thrilled to be in another friendly cul de sac full of kids!)

Nana came to visit us for the first time in Austin

Mozarts Coffee Shop - hoping to make this an annual tradition.
We heard about this place from our neighbors. It's a super fun place to come grab a hot chocolate and a treat. It's decked out to the nines with Christmas lights and they do a show to music every half hour. It's also right off the river so the reflection of all the lights is out of this world!

At Lillie's 1st Choir concert.
One bonus about moving is that the school didn't have advanced art as an elective so she chose choir instead. I've been trying to convince her for years that she would love it and she totally does!

With Samuel at his first band concert. He totally rocked it!

Grant and his new 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Bond. He gets along with her wonderfully!
He's here with her at his class Christmas party and combo PJ Day.

Getting Settled in...

a.k.a. lots of stress, tears, and nerves, combined with exploring and some fun, but mostly it feels like we just keep driving back to San Antonio for stuff!
Sam had tons of fun with all of the moving boxes. This is one of several things he created including a box fort in the garage. He wasn't allowed to destroy too many of them because we'll be using them again soon when we buy a house up here. But he had all the fun he was allowed!

Not knowing anyone yet this girl finally had time to focus on finishing her first quilt!

 THANKSGIVING 2017
I totally forgot to take a good amount of pics but I did get these two:
Food Prep and...

gingerbread house decorating!

We went out in search of a good hike one day soon after we moved and discovered this little gem: St. Edwards Park. We have so much fun and after a year of hiking all over the city it still makes our top 3 list.

Getting teeth brushed with Grammy on one of our many visits back.

The Braces Come OFF!
After a year and a half with these bad boys on she was so happy that this day had arrived!

Thanks Dr. Norris!

She went in looking like a little kid and came out looking so grown up!

Moving Day

Well we took the kids out of school the week before Thanksgiving break. We tried to soften the blow of moving by giving them a two week break. They were happy but I don't think it really did anything to ease the pain. I believe I was the most sad when I un-enrolled Sam from STEM. (We're a year out as I blog this and I'm still not over it :(.
Anywho, our cul de sac friends turned out to say goodbye as we were driving away. We'll miss you William and Carter!
