March 2020

March 2020 - We didn't know it yet, it was only in news stories from China, but Covid 19 was coming this month and about to upend everyone's world. After Spring Break - where we were told we'd likely get one extra week off and then be back at it ;) - 10th, 8th, and 5th grades moved online for the three big kids. We shopped for a new house the weekend before the world shut down, spent countless hours in our house together building puzzles, melty beads, sidewalk chalk, and walks.

Online school - no ones favorite

Gotta get that at home covid workout in

Sidewalk chalk was an appreciated art form during the height of lockdown. Here were a couple of our favorite pieces we saw on family walks.
Found a sweet knex set for a steal at Sam's Club

Uncle Raymond Klanika passed away this month. We were able to attend his funeral but sadly because of Covid restrictions the gathering had to be small. Uncle Raymond was such a wonderful man with so many friends. It was heartbreaking to not be able to have anyone except a small amount of family gather.

Grant has just started getting into making his own food. We might have a new chef around the house!

Spring Break 2020! - We had so much fun last year we wanted to continue the tradition! Sadly the Cutler's backed out but the Peterson's were still game - we were each other's safe covid family. We rented an air bnb somewhere in the hill country. It was a super cool house! The kids had a blast in the pool, spelling words :) out of rocks down by the firepit, hiking and playing night games.

Here's the new house we are purchasing in Wylie, TX!

M was born with ears that folded down in a super cute way! We thought she was adorable but might now appreciate that when she got a little older. So we started taking her to a specialist who spent the next several months reforming her ear shape. It's not painful at all, just getting her ears taped into shaped and then covered once every few weeks. Suffice it to say she hates it. Poor girl! She looks so cute after these appointments though!
