The last day that Uncle Jason was here we all took the kids to the Zoo. It was a little hot, but way better than going to the zoo in July! We had a great time. The kids especially loved hanging out with Uncle Jason. We missed you this time Becca and can't wait to see you both soon!Thursday, April 23, 2009

Easter 2009
As we celebrated the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ this Easter season we enjoyed spending time with our family and friends. This year we did four (4!!!) egg hunts! We have really got to cut down next year. Lillie had a hunt at her pre-school, and we did our annual ward egg hunt. We had a fantastic time on Friday night with our BFF's the Zufelt's. Thankyou T.J. for smokin' the ham...it was amazing as always! We always love hanging out with them. The 5 walking children had a great time hunting eggs in our backyard and Grant had a nice time sleeping in Dad's arms. They got through quite a bit of the candy before the adults noticed and spent the next few hours on a sugar high. Come to think of it, they spent the entire weekend on a sugar high!We spent a beautiful Easter Sunday together as a family. Of course the Easter bunny visited the night before and Lillie and Samuel enjoyed chocolate for breakfast. Sacrament meeting and our classes were wonderful and the day was topped of by a nice evening spent with my family. We had a delicious Easter dinner and topped it off with one last egg hunt. Phew! I think we have enough candy! (Don't tell the kiddos but we did recycle some eggs for the last hunt. I just couldn't stand the thought of bringing more candy home!) We enjoyed a beautiful Easter season and hope that all of you did as well!

Bittersweet
Bitter because today was my last midwife appt. Boo. I have had such a fantastic experience with everyone at the birth center and I am so sad to not be going there anymore. Pregnancy and childbirth is such an amazing miracle. It has been so wonderful to be living it this past 11 months and it's a little sad to be done. But sweet because I had a great time there today. Grant is doing great...he weighed 13 pounds today! I knew that my precious chunkity bundle of cuteness was getting "up there"! Everything with him and me is looking great! Yay! Here is Grant with Jennifer taking his temp. The next pic is one Samuel took (what a great lit
tle photographer!) I'm not sure what we're doing, but it looks like something important. The last pic is of Holly with Grant and I. We love you so much Holly! Thankyou so much for all of your fantastic care of both me and Grant. We've had such a great time with you this past year and will miss you very much. And to all the other fantastic women at the SABC we love you too! Thanks for everything! Some Words of Advice...
...DO NOT under any circumstances EVER go to downtown San Antonio on a Saturday during spring break with small children. (This is not to say that we didn't have fun, b/c we did, but we also grew a few gray hairs!) Our friends Chris and Falene from came to visit us and we went to Brackenridge Park and the Riverwalk. I have never, in all my years seen this park so packed! It took us an hour to find a parking spot! Then we decided to go to the Riverwalk and that was even more insane! Lillie and Samuel were pretty cranky too, though Aidan and Grant were superstars!Even though it was busy we had a fantastic time visiting with our friends and their beautiful baby boy. Thanks for coming to visit!

New Pics of Grant
So Grant is officially 1 month old tonight at 1:51 am. Like any new parent I have to say, I do not know where the time has gone. But this time around I knew from experience that it goes fast and I am making sure to treasure every moment. We're all settling in nicely. Grant is super mellow just like Lillie and Samuel. He is also very alert and gaining weight quickly in the true form of a Doolittle baby. It's been a fantastic month and we are having so much fun with our new little guy.
I just love this face that he makes!

This is how Grant likes to spend every night from 7pm until Tim and I go to bed. Not with me, with Tim. He konks out and I get a 3 or 4 hour break!
The love and excitement has not worn off for Lillie! She is still his 2nd mommy.

Our New Arrival
Hello All, So everybody knows by now but I'm blogging for posterity's sake! Announcing our new arrival:Grant Harrison Doolittle
Born: 2/18/2009 at 1:51 am
Weight: 8 lbs 14 oz
Length: 20.5 in
Both mom and baby did great. The home birth went very well and our midwife Holly was fantastic! Thankyou Holly! You will forever be a part of our family! We had Lillie at the birth (she was very well prepared) and she did great. She thought the whole thing was fantastic and talked of nothing else for a few days afterwards. Samuel thankfully slept through the whole thing. Phew! Everything went according to plan. So, to make up for lack of blogging here are pictures from the very begginning right up until yesterday.
Here is Grants first bath. He doesn't seem too happy about it does he.
