I can roll over!

Grant can roll over now! He's got it down from back to tummy and he is working on tummy to back. Backwards, I know, but for some reason this is how all my kids did it. It's kind of sad because if I put him to bed awake he'll roll around (that sounds funny to say) and then get mad b/c he's on his tummy and can't get off. Silly boy. I of course am always worried that he will suffocate so I check on him, then disturb him, it's a viscious cycle really. But, yes, I'm proud of my rollin' over boy. Big milestone!

Samuel's Big Boy Bed

Samuel got his new big boy bed a week and a half ago. So, I thought Mr. Clings-to-the-old-hates-changes was going to have a really hard time giving up his crib. I couldn't have been more wrong. He was so excited to build the bed with dad. He was thrilled to sleep in it the 1st night and has never asked to go back. I was doubly surprised because at the same time he moved to Lillie's bedroom and STILL had no problem with the change. I think he really loved the whole "big boy" concept. He is, of course, having a difficult actually staying in the bed, but we're working on it. A piece of chocolate for a job well done the night before seems to do the trick. And hey, there is nothing wrong with a piece of chocolate for breakfast! Anyway, I am so proud of him. He has been very gracious about Grant taking over his crib and room...what a GREAT big brother!

Lillie's Pre-School Graduation

Lillie graduated pre-school and it was awesome. I just love everything about that school. I can't wait for Samuel to get to go next year. Lillie was so proud, and I was actually tearing up. I can't imagine what I'll be like at their high school graduations, or worse, missions and weddings. She's pictured below with her awesome teacher Ms. Sherry. We also got her some flowers and a cookie cake. Yeah, we're pretty much the best parents ever. Well, Lillie was on cloud nine anyway. She learned so much this year, and made a lot of good friends. We are very proud of her and excited for her to start Kindergarten in the fall. You rock Lil'Star!

Memorial Day '09

We went to the coast for Memorial Day weekend and we had a blast. Well, most of us. Grant was just sort of along for the ride. The poor kid had sand EVERYWHERE. We tried hard to protect him but it was pointless. He was still happy though...the kid is a Rockstar! Lillie loved the ocean and would have played until she passed out. Samuel wouldn't touch the water but that was okay b/c the world was his sandbox. He dug All Day and still wanted to dig more. Next time I'll remember to bring some dump trucks for him. The weather was beautiful, the water was perfect and good times were had be all. It was a great family weekend!

Grant's blessing day

Grant was blessed this past Sunday and it was beautiful. Thankyou so much to all of the friends and family that came to visit and to celebrate him with us. You all are the most important people in our lives and we are so grateful that you were able to share this time with us. We had a fantastic weekend and will miss all the Doolittles who don't live here. We had a great visit!

Uncle Jason takes a trip to the SA Zoo

The last day that Uncle Jason was here we all took the kids to the Zoo. It was a little hot, but way better than going to the zoo in July! We had a great time. The kids especially loved hanging out with Uncle Jason. We missed you this time Becca and can't wait to see you both soon!

Grant's 1st trip to the zoo. He had this same look the entire day..."WHAT am I doing here?"

Easter 2009

As we celebrated the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ this Easter season we enjoyed spending time with our family and friends. This year we did four (4!!!) egg hunts! We have really got to cut down next year. Lillie had a hunt at her pre-school, and we did our annual ward egg hunt. We had a fantastic time on Friday night with our BFF's the Zufelt's. Thankyou T.J. for smokin' the ham...it was amazing as always! We always love hanging out with them. The 5 walking children had a great time hunting eggs in our backyard and Grant had a nice time sleeping in Dad's arms. They got through quite a bit of the candy before the adults noticed and spent the next few hours on a sugar high. Come to think of it, they spent the entire weekend on a sugar high!

We spent a beautiful Easter Sunday together as a family. Of course the Easter bunny visited the night before and Lillie and Samuel enjoyed chocolate for breakfast. Sacrament meeting and our classes were wonderful and the day was topped of by a nice evening spent with my family. We had a delicious Easter dinner and topped it off with one last egg hunt. Phew! I think we have enough candy! (Don't tell the kiddos but we did recycle some eggs for the last hunt. I just couldn't stand the thought of bringing more candy home!) We enjoyed a beautiful Easter season and hope that all of you did as well!
