Sam got a fish (tank) for his Bday!
The fish was purchased a few days later...see later photos
Samuel's Priesthood Ordination:
Sam was ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood as a Deacon after his 12th birthday. It was such a special day for all of us, but especially for him. I felt the spirit so strongly and couldn't stop feeling what an amazing thing that it was that Heavenly Father would trust these young boys to hold Priesthood authority. I have pondered this often and realized that we are often entrusted with sacred things when we do not yet understand their infinite worth and value (priesthood, temple endowment and sealing, raising children).
We were blessed to have so much family come in to be a part of the day!
Grandma and Grandpa brought Isaac a vintage church outfit that Tim used to wear in the early 80's
My handsome guy! I cannot believe that he's old enough to be a Deacon!
Uncle Jason and his family came into town for the special day as well. It was awesome to see Sam with his Dad, Grandpa, and Uncle all there to support him and be in the circle as he was ordained.
Lucky for this guy he shared his bday weekend with Sam's priesthood ordination so we still had all the family in town visiting!
EFY!
Lillie's 1st year at EFY! We were so excited for Lillie to be able to participate in EFY and she was excited to go! It was especially cool for me because it was still (after all these years) held at Trinity University and it was a total trip to be the parent dropping off the kid! She roomed with Sophia and of course had a totally amazing and spiritual experience. We love EFY!
Sam's 12th Bday Party:
L to R: Josh Shippen, Alex Peterson, Larson Roberts,
Brianne Chase, Sophia Peterson, Lillie, Elizabeth McGrew
For Sam's birthday this year he wanted to celebrate with one of his BFF's William from back in San Antonio. Boy do these old neighbors miss being able to hang out all day every day! We went to pick William up after we dropped Lillie at EFY. We stopped in New Braunfels where they went to Urban Air for the afternoon and stayed at a hotel. Next day was Schlitterbahn!!! We had a total blast. After we brought William back to our house to hang in Austin for a week. They had a killer time!
Sam's Scout Camp:
I just LOVE this pic of Isaac playing in the rain!
Yummy night at Mod Pizza
Isaac LOVED these library games in the children's section at the Spicewood Springs Branch Library
We went at least 3 times during the "Week of William" to the YMCA pool. Also, fun that Sid got to hang out... old next door neighbor and new next door neighbors hanging out was pretty awesome!
aaaaaand....here's the fish!
Just had to document how much Grant loves Gracie Cat
Katie invited me to one of her dancing classed and we had a fantastic time!
Well, travel plans have worked out pretty well this summer. William hung out with us for a week and then caught a ride back with Sam and Tim so Sam could go to Scout camp with another friend Josh Conrad. Sam called after night 2 wanting to come home but we made him stay and he was so glad that we did!
Happy 14th Birthday Lillie!
Working on passing the swim test
He turned out to be a total Ace and rifle shooting!
He even joined the competition on the last day and came in 2nd over all!
He totally went in as an untrained rookie and beat 18 year olds that had been doing it for years!
Visiting Grammy and Grandad:
After picking Sam up from Scout camp we came for some G and G time. (Man, for how much we come to SA it's a good thing that Austin is so close!)
Kite Flying with Grandad. He always took us kite flying as kids and I was so glad that Isaac also got to be taught by Grandad to fly a kite. This was also an extra special day because at this point Dad was often not feeling well and it was a big blessing that he had enough energy on this day to do this!
Chicago Prep: (i.e. Hair Dying Day)
The boys had been begging - BEGGING - to dye their hair. I told them they could do it right before we went to Chicago - that way they could keep it in for 2 weeks - here are the results:
I cannot believe that this girl is 14 and about to start High School! How did we get here?!? How can I have a high schooler?!? Anywho... me best girl wanted to celebrate with a shopping spree at the San Marcos outlets for the day so we left the boys and headed out for a day of fun - mostly fun - I bought some sugar free fudge and ate 2 *teeny tiny* bites. Apparently it did NOT agree with me because the last 30 minutes of the drive I was DYING as I tried to keep the contents of my digestive system safely inside of me. Every time I had a new wave of pain Lillie would practically die laughing and remind me that she had warned me not to buy it! Needless to say it's a day we will never forget!
Super Quick Girl's Getaway -
We wanted to do a fun Girls Trip and planned it in advance for when everyone could come - which was great until the only week that worked for us to do family vacay back right up to it. What was supposed to be a three night trip turned into a one night one for me but I still had a great time with these ladies!
We stayed in this cute little house on some land in dripping springs. Ate at some yummy local restaurants, went paddle boarding in Zilker park, and stayed up late watching chick flicks and eating junk. It was perfect!
Chicago!!! -
L to R: Becky Easton, Brittany Partridge, Mom, Michelle Easton, Gina Calta,
?, Christi Easton must've been taking the picture
We have been planning this trip for awhile and have been so excited to go! We flew which was so nice - for some reason the more kids we add the less fun long road trips are...go figure
Day 1 - Flying and settling in
Day Three - Seriously cheesy pizza at Giordano's, Grant Park, The Field Musuem
Day Four - Skydeck at Willis Tower, Millenium Park, Dylan's Candy Bar
Day Five - Lincold Park Zoo, Navy Pier
Day Six - Chicago Dogs, Lakeshore Park, Adler Planetarium
Day Seven - Musuem of Science and Industry
Day Eight - Heading Home!

Blue Hole -
On the shuttle to the airport
We let the kids pick out a book for the plane at ATX -
they were pretty stoked because we usually say no to things like that
Day 2 - L turns 14, the Shedd Aquarium, Walk through the City, Ghirardelli
Happy *actual* 14th bday Lillie!
L turned 14 while in Chicago which was pretty cool. We stuck to the things that we wanted to do while there but made sure to put all of Lillie's favorites on this day:
Shedd Aquarium and bday ice cream at Ghirardelli
This girl loves Stingrays! When she goes to college she wants to study to be a Ichthyologist.
We had a fun *and long* walk through the city to get to Ghirardelli - The city girl in me loved it! The kids had complaints but I hushed them up quick with threats of no ice cream so they didn't ruin my vibe
We found Wumps!
I have always wished that Isaac and I were in this so that we could've made it our Christmas card pic
We went into the city for one last lunch and some souvenir shopping and then headed back to the airport. It was an absolutely fantastic trip! This pic above was one of my favorites of the trip. It was the night we were heading home from Navy Pier - T and I were walking behind these three when we saw this and it just warmed our hearts so much! Vacation is the best - A favorite memory of mine that I don't want to forget - the teamwork that Tim and I had to navigate everywhere: the city was so busy that the gps often lagged behind. So I would watch the map and tell him where to go. With all the crazy streets it could be really touch and go sometimes but we did great and felt so in sync!
3/3 for bday celebrations for this girl ^^^
Grammy's 60th Birthday!
Grandad, me and my sisters planned a 60th bday party for Mom. It was a great time celebrating this wonderful woman in our lives!
L to R: Mendez's, Sis. Barton and Seegmiller, Lillie and Loga, Michaeline, Pam Sleeper, our family, not sure of the gentleman on the far right or the couple in the front.
I have always wanted to go here! We made reservations with the Petersons and then...Isaac got sick. I didn't feel comfy letting Grant go yet but Megan still took S and L and they had a great time!
